A Day With Horses

On Sunday, March 13th, Horses, Hope & Healing partnered with Sacramento County’s Therapeutic Recreation Services to host HH&H’s first “A Day With Horses.” Around a dozen adults with varying developmental disabilities came out to the barn and spent the day grooming, handling, and riding.
Here are some pictures from what was an absolutely amazing day–a huge THANK YOU to all of the volunteers who came out to help make this a success!! We can’t wait to do it again!!

Horseback riding helps develop confidence, balance, and core muscle strength. In the picture above, the rider is passing a plastic ring between her two sidewalkers to help facilitate these skills.
